DIVISIONAL WEEKEND RECAP

Wow! Two more great days of watching football have come and gone and next weekend cannot come soon enough! In my mind nothing beats the Pro Football post season. And boy-oh-boy… if that one missed catch had been secured instead of letting it get picked off, there’s a distinct possibility that everything would look much different in all five categories!
Side note: the person operating our playoff website was overserved and celebrated the Pats victory a bit too hard on Sunday. And also, the Rams victory on Saturday. Some of you may have noticed a few hiccups when checking the standing anytime before Monday morning. He has been reprimanded and it will never happen again.
Last week we saw nine members get all four games correct. This week, twelve people went 4 for 4 – but no one did it both weeks, meaning CRAZYIAM’s perfect playoffs from two years ago will remain the one and only time it’s ever happened. In addition, that means the $1000 perfect bonus will go untouched and will be split between 1st place Regular Season ($400 for X-MEN16), 1st place Overall ($400), and 1st place Playoffs ($200), both yet to be determined, obviously. Also want to point out that one person, BB12CAT was one of the twelve to go 4-for-4 this weekend, but he’s the only one that went 0-for-4 last weekend! Quite the turnaround!

At the moment, COPSANDROBBERS leads the Playoff Race with 18 points, seven people have 17, eleven have 16, but since there’s a total 12 points still left on the board, many many MANY people have a shot to place, in both the Playoff Pool and Overall, along with the Rookie, Combo and Veterans Races. On the flip side, seventeen people put up goose eggs and three people scored only 1 point.
As a whole, the 160 active members this week (a few people have apparently given up and stopped submitting picks) scored 789 points in the Divisional round, which averages out to 4.93 per player – only slightly worse than last week’s average of 5.58 per player, but slightly better than last season!
January 2018 – 4.57 points per player
January 2017 – 6.52
January 2016 – 6.16
January 2015 – 4.46
January 2014 – 6.32
January 2013 – 4.41
Not good people!
Once again, the Overall top 10 has seen a dramatic shift after the second round of games. Last week there was a 3-way (not the good kind) tie for 1st place between WALLLYMAC, MAJAHUITAS, and X-MEN16, but each did poorly only scoring 3, 0, and 4 respectively. The new leaders, tied with 159, points are THEKINGBEEJ and JSECHER85. Can they hold on with only three games left?!
In the Rookie Race, BRADELL broke last week’s other 3-way (again not the good kind) tie for 1st place by putting up 7 solid points while WIZ49 and RYAN_IS_NOT_MAYAN were only able to manage 3-points. But like I said before, there’s still 12 points left, and lots of room to move.
RYAN_IS_NOT_MAYAN and BRUCE WILLIS still are on top, but their solid 10-point lead in the Combo Race is now down to 8 over BRADELL and BLUEBYEU.
WALLLYMAC has a 3-point lead over MAJAHUITAS in the Veteran’s Pool, but there’s a few members still within striking distance, and with 12 more points available over the next few weeks, it’s truly anyone’s title to take in all five races… Overall, Playoffs, Rookie, Combo, and Veterans!
And one final reminder: for the two games during championship weekend, you assign each game either 5, 4 or 3 points. The point amount that you do not use will be designated as your Super Bowl value.
GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO NEED IT AND WANT IT!!!
Dan
