DIVISIONAL WEEKEND RECAP

Wow! A couple crazy games, huh?! Two more great days of watching football have come and gone and next weekend cannot come soon enough! In my mind nothing beats the Pro Football post season. And boy-oh-boy… if SEA gets that 2-point conversion at the end, or maybe HOU doesn’t run a fake punt in the middle of the 2nd quarter up 24-0 on the 31-yard line, there’s a distinct possibility that everything would look much different in all five categories!
Last week we saw ten members get all four games correct. This week, ONLY three people went 4 for 4 – and no one did it both weeks, meaning CRAZYIAM’s perfect playoffs from early 2017 will remain the one and only time it’s ever happened. In addition, that means the $1000 perfect bonus will go untouched again and will be split between 1st place Regular Season ($400 for MARXY), 1st place Overall ($400), and 1st place Playoffs ($200), both yet to be determined, obviously.
At the moment, both KDOG63 and OT61757 lead the Playoff Race with 19 points, three people have 17, one has 16, but since there’s a total 12 points still left on the board, many many MANY people have a shot to place. On the flip side, eighteen people put up goose eggs and another seventeen people scored only 1 point. Tough round for sure!

As a whole, the 163 active members this week (clearly many folks have given up and stopped submitting picks) scored 687 points in the Divisional round, which averages out to 4.19 per player – the WORST average since I started keeping track seven years ago!
January 2019 – 4.93 points per player
January 2018 – 4.57
January 2017 – 6.52
January 2016 – 6.16
January 2015 – 4.46
January 2014 – 6.32
January 2013 – 4.41
Not good people!
Since the end of the regular season, the Overall top 10 has seen a dramatic shift, especially after the second round of games. AND the biggest surprise of them all is
that we currently have a new Overall leader. MARXY’s commanding 8-game lead has quickly turned into a 2-game deficit, all thanks to his 0-4 performance and WILLY33’s cool 10-point weekend. Not a good time to fall apart, but there’s still plenty of time left.
I would also like to mention that OT61757, currently tied for the Playoff lead as mentioned before and a SEA 2-point conversion away from being 8-0, has moved from 46th place after Week 17 all the up to 8th place Overall. Could he crack the Top 5? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
WILLY33 also has a 7-game lead in the Rookie Race, and along with his jockey BRADELL, are atop the Combo Race, with a 4-game lead over the MARKBUCCA and TRABS team. Clearly this kid is out for blood and is looking to mop up all the money!
DEMO1 now leads the Veteran’s Pool with 159 wins, three more than SHUTCH and four more than MAJAHUITAS, but there’s a few members still within striking distance, and with 12 more points available over the next few weeks, it’s truly anyone’s title to take in all five races… Overall, Playoffs, Rookie, Combo, and Veterans!
And one final reminder: for the two games during championship weekend, you assign each game either 5, 4 or 3 points. The point amount that you do not use will be designated as your Super Bowl value.
GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO NEED IT AND WANT IT!!!
Dan
