DIVISIONAL WEEKEND RECAP 2020

DIVISIONAL WEEKEND RECAP

Wow! Two more great days of watching football have come and gone and this approaching weekend cannot come soon enough! In my mind nothing beats the pro football post season. And boy-oh-boy… if Henne doesn’t make that 3rd-and-long run or that 4th-and-short pass, or if Jackson gets a good snap and doesn’t get hurt or if Tucker doesn’t BONK two field goal attempts, there’s a distinct possibility that everything would look much different in all five categories!

This week 31 members went 4-4 to receive 10 big points, nineteen got 9 points, and another 15 got 8 points. On the flip side, three people put up goose eggs and another six people scored only 1 point.

At the moment, EAGLE4BC leads the Playoff Race with 20 points, three people have 19, three people have 18, and another three people have 17, but since there’s a total 12 points still left on the board, many many MANY people have a shot to place.

As a whole, the 167 active members this week (clearly many folks have given up and stopped submitting picks) scored 1092 points in the Divisional round, which averages out to 6.53 per player – the BEST average since I started keeping track eight years ago, after last year’s worst outing!

January 2020 – 4.19 points per player

January 2019 – 4.93

January 2018 – 4.57

January 2017 – 6.52

January 2016 – 6.16

January 2015 – 4.46

January 2014 – 6.32

January 2013 – 4.41

Nice job people!

OVERALL STANDINGS:

ALL HAIL DESPERADO26!!

This guy is having quite the year! After taking home 1st place in the Regular Season by a full 6-games, he’s ALREADY wrapped up the OVERALL RACE even before this weekend’s games have been played, because his lead has been extended to 13-games — and since there’s only 12 points left, no can catch him! An unreal feat that I’m pretty sure has never happened in the 20 years of this pool. ANDDDDDD if our big winner is able to go 3-for-3 to end the season, he will have, by far, the second most points in FTPL history! And the only person to have more was the 183 scored by COMMISH JMAC in 2010. JMAC’s regular season stats were soooo impressive they actually landed him in the Top 10 of the ENTIRE website – which means he did better than 1000s of people, probably even tens of 1000s or possibly more! INSANE!

ROOKIE RACE: ALLBOUS went 4-4 this past weekend, but so did five other rookies, including CASEY13, so his 2-game lead hasn’t changed. In addition to CASEY, there’s another four rookies who are now within striking distance, and one that can still tie, but that tie would only work if ALLBOUS goes 0-3 from here on out.

COMBO RACE: KENNEYPOWERS and NO FIREWORKS have fallen from the top rung after scoring only 11 combined points, leaving the door open for both CZCZCZ and

WONDERLIC IT along with ALLBOUS and MARK T (our fearless leader) to overtake them after all four went 4-4 and scored 20 combined points for their squads.

VETERAN’S POOL: DESPERADO26 also won this race. No surprise there…

With 12 more points available over the next few weeks, it’s truly anyone’s title to take in the remaining races… Rookie, Combo, and Playoffs, along with of course 2nd through 5th in the Overall race which pays out bigtime!

GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO NEED IT AND WANT IT!!!

Dan
